Day 17
Fri May 18, 2001
Hello There !

We're still roaming around out here. Today we spent the morning down by the pier checking out all the shops and went to an Imax movie on the eruption of Mt. St. Helen.

Then about noon we pulled out of Seattle. Well, we floated out on a ferry to Bainbridge where we picked up route 101 an headed for Olympia National Park. We decided to hold up in Port Angeles next to the park.

Todays Route

Space Needle at night.
There is a revolving resturant at the top and is so balanced that it only takes two 1 hp motors to turn it.

Did you know that Seattle has the second largest ferry systems in the world. They will hold 250
vehicles and 5000 tons.

Our car was one of the last ones on. I'm sure glad that it didn't roll back.

Rackum, stackum and packum. Once you park you can leave your vehicle and go upstairs
where the deck is glass enclosed with a cafeteria, video games and plush seating.

Pulling out of Seattle.
I guess we're not city folks. We seem to like the wide open places.
What we're saying is it is good to be out of that rat race.
Tomorrow we will explore Olympia National Park and then head to Mt St Helen.

You all take care and we will be home soon
